Thank You, Acne, For Raising My Consciousness (And Happy Dec 21st, 2012 Everyone!)

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to ……… acne! I’d like to thank it for opening my eyes, and helping me to take a big leap in consciousness.

December 21st is tomorrow. It’s the big date. Maybe you don’t really care – you don’t think it’s anything special, or even worse… you’ve bought into the fear that maybe something bad is going to happen… doomsday, dun dun dunnn.

The world’s not ending tomorrow so get over it. What is happening though is that people are starting to wake up. I don’t think this is something that starts tomorrow – it’s already happening. In fact, I can tell… it IS already happening at a very accelerated rate. Maybe after tomorrow it will speed up even more.

What is consciousness? What is awakening? What does that meeean?

I know it sounds all new agey, spiritual, out-of-your-league.. but it’s not like that. Well I guess it’s kind of like that, but it’s definitely not out of your league. It’s real and obtainable with a simple opening of the eyes. And it’s imperative in these chaotic times that more and more people do open their eyes if we want something different for the future than what is happening now.

To quote the documentary that I watched last night,

“Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information, and religions destroy spirituality” ~ Michael Ellner

To me, consciousness is waking up to this and seeing it for what it truly is: a charade; an illusion. People in control WANT us to stay dumb. They want us to be asleep. It benefits them if we stay as mindless cogs in their machine, conforming to “normal”, denying who you are and the true gifts you have to give – work as a slave every day at a job you hate; job security is all you have in life; freedom starts at 65; consume; consume; consume; rules; rules; rules; hate yourself; fear your neighbour; stay distracted; don’t open your mind; if you do you will see –  and they do this through numerous ways, the big one being the fear spouted off in the mainstream media. And also the assinine commercials and programming on television. Advertising everywhere you turn. Others include processed food and pharma drugs, the structure of the school system, and the fear and guilt often associated with organized religion. Let’s not forget “the war on drugs” and “the war on terror”.

The more fear the better. The more numbed we are the better. The more distracted we are the better. The more we fear losing, the more they can control us. The more awake we are to the reality, the worse it is for them.

That is why they have put a negative spin on tomorrow’s date. They know that more and more people are waking up to the game and it freaks them out big time. They are grasping at straws to keep the fear alive because they are full of fear themselves.

You may have noticed more and more people are catching on to the whole act and it’s in big part to the internet and the free sharing of information. Before the internet, the ways people got their information was largely from the news; television; newspapers. Information that is controlled; edited; censored. Of course books were available, but even those are subject to a publisher’s whim and information was not shared as easily and as accessibly.

I believe that our consciousness is linked to one another … everyone’s individual consciousness influences the global consciousness. We are droplets in an ocean, the earth and universe and everything in it is the whole. We are part of the whole. The earth is an organism and we are its cells. We are all the same, living life subjectively.

When the majority of people live in fear, that becomes the prevailing mood of the earth and it creates separation from one another; war; chaos; greed. When the majority of people live in love, that becomes the prevailing mood and it brings us together to create positive change.

All it is is a choice between love and fear. In order for us to have a positive future on this planet (and times right now are critical), all it is is a choice – a choice to stay numb and fearful, or a choice to embrace oneness and focus on a positive future. There is nothing specific you need to do on 2012 and beyond except to make that choice. It’s just an attitude. And when you allow yourself to be who you truly are, and accept people the way they truly are, away from all that conditioning, you will awaken to the gifts you were meant to give the world. And what those gifts are are perfect. They are exactly what the world needs. And finally you will be able to give them.

Acne was what punched me in the face and said “WAKE UP!”. If it weren’t for going through that painful experience, I would have stayed fearful and numb. Why not? Life was comfortable enough. I hadn’t any reason to question whether the government was on my side or doctors were on my side or whether I was doing the things that made me happy. I just wanted to fit in and be “normal”. It wasn’t until my life felt in shatters as my face was covered in acne that I questioned why is this happening to me. How could this be? What’s not working here?

But now I feel a lot more alive; proud that I am awake to it. And I’ve awaken to my calling to make a positive difference in the world. I feel like I’m now part of the solution, and a hope for a positive future :) CHOOSE LOVE!!!

Everyone watch this film if you can, it’s so wonderful and inspiring and so powerfully wraps up all these thoughts I have been having. Happy December 21st tomorrow… I am going to be going and meditating on our positive future on this planet with a group of local people, and it sounds like many across the world will be doing the same. Let’s toast to a new beginning!

If you don’t have time to watch all that (it’s pretty long), here’s a different clip from a fun-to-watch web series I really like called Spirit Science (it’s only 12 minutes):

And if you don’t have time to watch THAT, at least watch this clip from comedian Bill Hicks (it’s only 3 minutes!):

Love x

Wow reading your words was so inspirational. I didn’t even need to watch the video! I have decided that this will be part of my new years resolution. My skin is finally clearing, and even if break out or struggle with the marks left, I’m gonna stay positive and no longer see it as a flaw, but a personal healing process. If we were all just a bit more positive and caring-for ourselves and others- it would make such a difference in all our lives. Let’s not live in fear, but hope.

      Hi Annemarie,
It is really difficult not to get caught up in the fear and focus on the things that we don’t want.. I’m glad to hear you are going to look at this as a learning and growing process, because that’s what it is :)

What a huge sigh of relief. I always thought about the things you have just wrote about, like how people must work like a slave, moan about their job and how much they get paid. Moan about their health and how they are constantly being screwed by the government. (there’s not much we can do about the government)

The hardest thing I find is that no matter how much I try to tell people close to me why they are unhealthy, why the food industry is like it it and why they still moan about their life after spending so much time and investment on material items because they are ‘new’ and ‘on special offer so a bargain’, is that they don’t see these as their own choices, as if they were forced upon themselves because they much consume everything the factories churn out.

My Parents have just come from a 2 week cruise around the caribbean which is great, they deserve a break (who doesn’t, although my idea of a break is not that type of holiday). They HAD to bring us something back (meaning my Brothers and I), and what did they bring back? Chocolates, biscuits, spirits, alcohol and the ‘latest’ aftershave, as well as 400 cigarettes which my Dad was fuming about when someone stole half from his luggage (I was pleased they had been taken but not the principle that my Dad was robbed). OK, to be fair they did bring me back 2 jars of coconut oil because they know by now that healthy food is only really what I want to receive if anything. All of that crap has been consumed now and half of the family will gain a few pounds in the next month or so and moan again about being overweight. I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but could they just invest their time and energy into giving something other than material stuff? I decorated, cleaned, organised and simplified our entire house and garage when my Parents were on holiday, for that is totally forgotten now because the rest of the family will be bringing an unnecessary amount of junk in the sales. CONSUMPTION!!!

I so much want to be ‘different’ to everyone else, but I just don’t know how I can do that right now. I’m 22 and have a lot of (design) skills and I’m working on something right now which I greatly believe in, but nobody else does because I’m not sat in an office all week moaning about work and having to come home in a rush to eat garbage because “I don’t have time to cook”.

Tracy, I’m incredibly happy and pleased that you have found a passion that you can do without the rules and social ‘requirements’ having to shape how you do your work – to be happy and content with the current moment . I can’t wait to find that. I feel though that most “healthy” people, esp. the Paleo community have an alternative way of work because they completely get the industrialised world.

Sorry for the novel but it means a lot to me that I can write these things down where I know the people reading them will understand.

    Thank you :)

      Hi Nathan,
I understand how difficult it is to find your own path and choose a different way when you are surrounded by people who haven’t seemed to have woken up yet… but the more you emit the intention to break free from that, the more you will attract the things and the people that you want, you kind of just have to have a little faith that there will be struggles but the struggles are always for learning and that they are always there for a purpose and eventually you will get to where you want to go. PS – I’m sooooooo haapppppyyy my family decided not to do gifts this year at Christmas

      December 20, 2012 | 4:17 pm

Wow, thank you so much for writing that Nathan. I feel these things everyday too. My family doesn’t understand these things. I went through a lot of hell when I went to a dermatologist, he gave me creams that just made my acne worse and I got so depressed. My acne only cleared when I quit that garbage and went natural. Despite that, my family still believes in the power of dermatologists. I have a cousin who’s now going through the exact same thing I went through with his acne. His mom (my aunt) came to me at our thanksgiving dinner and asked what my secret was for clearing my skin, so she could pass it to her son. I told her how damaging dermatologists can be and that the first step for clearing his acne would be ditching the dermatologist. I told her all about my newfound health knowledge, and how everything’s connected, and even though I know she understood what I was saying, I could see a glaze appear in her eyes as I talked to her. She wasn’t expecting me to say that, she was hoping I would just give her the name of a miracle product and that would be it. I wouldn’t be surprised if my cousin’s skin is just as bad, or even worse, than it was when I last saw him. I suppose I’ll find out over the Christmas holidays.

I’m also a young kid fresh out of school and I’ve just started working in a creative field. It’s going great for me, I know this is what I was born to do and I have the utmost confidence in myself and my abilities. And yet I get that same thing with my family, this sort of feeling that I’m somehow in the wrong for not slaving away at a job I have no connection to, and not having the same problems they all have (but don’t need to have).

I try not to judge people. I’m smart enough to know that it’s not anyone’s fault that things are the way they are. People are conditioned by the world they grow up in, so it’s not my family’s fault that they grew up without internet, and the knowledge that’s available to kids today which lets them open their minds to this stuff. It just frustrates me nonetheless to still see it all the time.

I really loved reading what you posted, Lukas. I, too, am pursuing a career in a creative field and it makes me sometimes feel like a bit of a black sheep in my family. Lay that on top of the spirituality through which I see the world, and sometimes I feel like I’m speaking a different language. I think what you said about keeping in mind every individual’s conditioning is key. It’s definitely still frustrating at times… but just reading what you and everyone else wrote is so encouraging to me. Reminds me I’m not alone. :)

Yes! That’s how I tolerate all the crappiness in this world (I’m not saying your family is crappy, but talking broader) is always remembering that we are all conditioned… there’s lots of people in this world I don’t like and I don’t agree with their actions, and I don’t want to spend time with (and I think that’s fine), but I try to feel compassion for them instead of hatred because I know that everyone in this world is the way they are because of how they have been conditioned, including me, and everyone is somewhere along the path of their own little journey to “figuring stuff out”. I would hope that no one had looked down on me while I was still “figuring stuff out”, or still am… because I’m not saying I have it all figured out yet! haha

Me too for the career in a creative field! (graduated in Architecture but looking for something else) People often think that designers or creatives are ‘different’ and I really think that we are – we see the world from a different perspective in many ways… This as well as the lifestyle choices we make and the things we believe in… I can totally relate to feeling like a black sheep.

That’s soooo crazy! I JUST watched that same documentary yesterday. I’ve been watching the Spirit Science web series for a while now and that Bill Hicks clip is a favorite of mine from way back. It’s great to know others feel the exact same thing as I do. It can get lonely sometimes. I’d love to leave some links for others who are interested!
Shows how different people are changing the world for the better:

First part is a bummer because it shows what’s wrong with the world but the ending show what social movements and projects people are a part of for change:

Oh wow. This is all stuff that’s been on my mind lately since I changed careers to something I enjoy. I refuse to play into this culture’s miserable system until I die. I want to be happy, damn it. I want to choose love. My New Year’s resolution for 2013 (big deal for me, because I never do resolutions) is to make the most of my time and experience on this planet: less TV and more books, more time with others who make me happy, less or no time with others who bring me down, more trying new things and taking care of my health and wellness, doing random acts of kindness for others, more time outside/in nature, giving at least one genuine compliment every day, and so on. I love your outlook on life.

And I agree. The world is so not ending tomorrow. I’m afraid of the news stories for the next 48 hours or so…people can be so ridiculous.

    • Tracy
      December 20, 2012 | 3:18 pm

Yay, that’s a great resolution! I love it!! I think all of those things are so important to truly being happy and a step in the right direction. Before we can heal the world, we gotta heal ourselves so there’s nothing selfish in it. Good for you for changing careers too.. that one is pretty scary!

Like people that wrote above.. My new years resolution for 2013 is to live a happier life, I want to explore different parts of the world, make new friends from different continents, expand my knowledge and learning power (I’m actually trying to learn a learning technique called ”Holistic learning” Haha!) And just look at the life in a more positive way. My skin is clearing up a lot right now and I feel happier now than I ever did just a few months before I started on my journey to clear skin. 2012 has been a good year, I’ve meet new people, I started on college.. Made some fantastic friends and I’ll continue doing that! :D

      Hi Adel,

Thanks! Holistic learning isn’t actually about.. learning the same way as the cavemans did (whatever way they did it in) Basically, it’s by connecting ideas or two different subjects together in a chain of ideas making it easier to remember and to ace exams that way. :) you should search for Scott H Youngs blog, he is really smart and he pretty much aced through university with this skill!

Hi Trish – yes very true, and often you can’t push it… you can say it, but if people don’t want to hear it they don’t want to hear it and they’ll filter it out. It’s the type of thing they will let in when they are ready (hopefully sooner rather than later!)

I’ve just watched the first video… It makes me very sad that the media just passes these things off as “Oh well, some minor religion or whatever think the world is going to end, if it doesn’t lets laugh it off and get plastered tonight…”

I wish more people like yourself were able to help spread the world about this to make people understand, rather than just go along with whatever the media want to say. They are just humans too, but like those who believe that external skincare is the only way to clear acne, their lack of knowledge filters them to only what they can pick up with their morning coffee. Yes they have a choice, but I don’t think that people care about these things anyway, if they did, we would not be seeing as much misery in the world as we do.

If I asked my family to sit down with me and watch this like a ‘normal’ movie, they would probably get bored within the opening sequence… “Who cares, it’s not going to change my life” my Brothers will say… I’m actually quite saddened by this :( . Why can’t more people wake up, smell the earth and ‘just get along’ happily…. Why must they chose to look at facebook all day and worry about not having enough booze this holiday.

Thank you so much for opening up my world Tracy. Your energy is so empowering in all that you do, I wish you a happy, healthy and conscious 2013 and beyond.

    Love,

    Nathan

      Hi Nathan,
I know, it really sucks. I always try to get my parents to turn off the news but I know trying to persuade doesn’t work so … oh well. It’s better to lead by example, quietly, and never push it. It’s frustrating though. Is there going to be a time when are able to move out from your family home and surround yourself with more like minded people? I think that will be an important step for you to feeling more comfortable with wanting to break free from the norm! (although mind you even out in the world it can be a challenge to find like minded people, but if you just stay true to yourself, you will attract them)

      • Nathan Stocks
        December 21, 2012 | 10:18 am

It’s funny you should say that, because my eldest brother moved out about a year ago and the middle one just a few weeks ago! Now it’s just my Parents, twin Brother and I living at home…

Whilst my parents were away, I was so calm, so in the moment and could just do what I wanted. Now, when they come home, I get frustrated that they don’t ‘do what I want’ like put their junk food away, keep the place tidy and in general respect other peoples’ space… (I think it’s usually the opposite, where the children are the messy ones!) I think that’s the biggest thing that I don’t like about living with my family, is that they just don’t respect others peoples space, esp. in the kitchen where after I make a meal I always ensure it’s clean and tidy for the next one. (which usually means opening of boxes and stuffing it in the oven for the rest of the household)

I’m the same about the news, I never watch or read it because it’s just depressing. We know the world has problems but I don’t want the media’s spin of it every single minute. Another thing is when people constantly moan that it’s raining… If it didn’t rain we wouldn’t have fresh food dammit!

Thank you for listening, it means a lot to me that somebody does.

    Tracy,
This is my favorite post you’ve ever written. Literally EVERYTHING that you said are things that I believe and have said before, myself. But being surrounded by people who don’t really speak this language yet, it’s so easy for me to forget or question myself from time to time. This was such a beautiful and perfectly-timed reminder and affirmation for me. It is so nourishing for me to know that there are other people out there like me and that we are slowly changing global consciousness.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this. I really needed it today.
I hope someday I get to meet your pretty face in person. :)
    Sending love and light,

      Hi Desi,
You’ll be happy to know that I attended a ceremony yesterday in which a group of people who all feel the same way about changing the future to a better place, one of love not fear, with different more compassionate social structures, and one that lives in harmony with each other and the earth… well, we gathered around a fire, everyone shared their intentions for the future, then we meditated together with a bell ceremony and … yeah.. it was AWESOME!! so wonderful and powerful and amazing to know there are people who feel the same way, and that together we were sending out the intention to heal the earth.

However, I realize how super easy it is to stay present in those thoughts when you attend an event like that, and how easy it is to slip into something else when surrounded when people you’re not, or even when you’re alone (get caught up in your own fears). I know it is for me. I personally hope that my community will come together like this often to keep the momentum going on it.

Something that was said last night was a reminder that the more we stay focused on the love and enlightenment within ourselves, the more we will influence others around us to do the same… it all starts within us. Stay strong love!! and yes, maybe one day the stars will cross and we shall meet Desi :) Sounds like we’d probably be good friends!

They have scared you so much that you don’t even realize that we are living in the safest and most prosperous times in human history.

You can not rely on stuff or other people to make you happy. You have to make you own happiness. No new age guru telling you how bad the world is will bring you happiness.

This Maya ‘event’ has really opened up my mind even more. I was slightly spiritual in that appreciation for the world and the things I consume, but understanding how the cycles of the entire human populations go from the iron age and into the bronze age is so uplifting! I didn’t really know why the iron age was call so and now I know!

There was another documentary on TV last night (very late where nobody cares to watch those sort of programs at that time), where it revealed that actually, the Mayan’s did not say the world is going to end at all, it was just the media’s spin on it to make money and of course they did. People in America spend tens of thousands on shelters, food stocks guns and other means of ‘protection’… They believed that they need to fight off the ‘bad’ people, or the people who are not awaken, believing that some will go and some (the awaken) will stay… They still didn’t ‘get it’ completely though because they were ready to kill… Some mayan people didn’t even know about the ’2012 event’!

And now I’ve heard that there is a Mayan twitter account, where they are saying things like “well this is awkward” ” Day 2 and we are still here”… Of course it’s a fake account but people are retweeting and consuming it because they don’t know any different…

Environments really do have a huge influence on what we believe in and how we connect… It’s such a shame that the masses do not create the right environment to be in love and harmony with each other and the earth.

(I’m going to be watching that very long video again, I really found it helpful and calming)

    Thank you Tracy! :)

Watching the long video again, makes me think that the UK government trebled the tuition fees not because they can’t afford to “subsidise “, but instead because they want to keep us from being smart, even though at best, the education system is a huge failure anyway… I’ve just graduated and my certificate is worthless in the world, the knowledge is there but it cannot escape due to the economy. (not that I care, I don’t want a job anymore and I don’t want to pay taxes to a government who just used the money to kill, control and manipulate us).

This video is a real eye opener and I think that freedom is something that we are able to find going back to “caveman times”, although when you think about it, going back is actually moving forward.

I know this has nothing to do with finding happiness, but I’ve just learnt that each person born, with a birth certificate, has a value on the NY stock exchange! THEY OWN US!!!

I found out on this video after researching the meaning of consciousness:

The world really has gone crazy. LOVE planet Earth in its natural beauty because otherwise it is simply a prison of fear. Thank you so much Tracy for writing this post, it has influenced my perspective of life way more than anything else. The choice is ours, to be part of the fear and just go along with society, or to completely ignore it and love for which will create real freedom.

I was just about to send you an email to wish you a Happy christmas and to thank you again for all that you have given me.

I’m already seeing our Earth Planet as an open eden where no rules apply and where we can do anything we choose. Who said that to be “happy” or to “live” you must spend the majority of your live working 40+ hours per week? NOBODY SAID THAT, it is just expected these days!!! This to me is such a relief and I would not have fully become aware of that if I didn’t want that video over and over. My dream for life right now is to live self sufficiently in a wood/forest/away from main society and take nothing from the government.

        Take care.

        Love, Nathan

I don’t know if this astrology ideas are true or not.Maybe we enter a new age,the bronze age, and our consciousness rises to a new level.I hope so.
What i want to say is that i do feel like i am more conscious, more aware of me and others.Like a kind of change has been happening to me.But i feel i owe it more to finding your youtube channel thelovevitamin and through it this site than to this whole astrology thing.I don’t know.
Also a change has happened to me when i read the Gospel of Matthew a few weeks ago.It made me better.

      Hi Radu,
Yes, I don’t know about all the astrology stuff either.. I don’t not believe in it, but I don’t KNOW about it and whether it has an effect on us… I do think there is something special about the stars and their influence on them since all the ancient cultures and primitive tribes seemed to have such incredible knowledge of the stars and cosmos…who knows, all I know is that it really does seem like times are a changin’, and people are waking up… and it’s interesting that this time in history was predicted as being a special dawning a new age.. could be a coincidence, or not

Hope not.I like this idea of a new age even though i don’t know if it is real or not.It feels like magic.
